Smells Like...Victory

"Murph" (03.17.2009)
In memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005.
This workout was one of Mike's favorites and he'd named it "Body Armor". From here on it will be referred to as "Murph" in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is.

Complete for time:
1 Mile Run
100 Pull-Ups
200 Push-Ups
300 Squats
1 Mile Run

Partition the pull-ups, push-ups, and squats as needed. Start and finish with a mile run.
If you've got a twenty pound vest or body armor, wear it.

"Smurph"
Note: If you think the name "Smurph" is  indicative of a less difficult WOD then you are dead wrong (I just couldn't think of any other name that dovetailed as nicely off the name Murph...). Don't forget that Smurphs are tiny little communists of the deadliest nature...you should respect them and this WOD's ability to slay you.

Coach Sailor and I have been talking about a day where we can host a crazy girls soccer training WOD at the CrossFit New Hampshire location, and after reading the times those little tornadoes scored I think our athletes should be petrified of pending competition.

Kevin,

Hey man, rest that foot up so you can tear it up when you get here tomorrow. Send me or bring me some pics of the little beasts you are training and I will put a section in the next post for them.
When you get up here tomorrow we will see if we can figure out your blogger site.
Sunday will be sicky too cause some of our athletes are going through the crucible called the "Dirty Fundamental Thirty" WOD and you can help coach.

Naw they didn't use the vest since it was a first Murph experience for all of them, and there was tons of madness (imagine Mike getting lost on the run despite me mapping the run, drawing it on the whiteboard, GPSing it, and even getting an elevation profile...) next time we are using string cheese.
Jefe's time is minus the second half because of his knee tweak, but Mike and Frank tore it up without the vest pretty good. Leaps and bounds for these guys with progress, check out Mikes time for the pull-up WOD in tonights post...insane, and chest to bar most of the reps.
See you tomorrow freak!
