Safety Note:
If you are following this site but do not train with us please take safety into account and scale as necessary.
The CrossFitters taking on this beast have been training for more than a year, some of which were competitive in the Northeast Regional Qualifiers for the CrossFit Games. This is by no means implying that ''Viking Frank'' is an insurmountable challenge, we just hope that all of our athletes near and far consider safety to be paramount. ''Viking Fran'' is listed below in case anyone feels like cutting their teeth on the original monster. Those days in the garage were amazing to behold.

CrossFit Endurance WOD (08.31.2009)
8-4-2 Ladder
Swim, Bike, Run, or Row (C2)

Bike: 8min of 300m on 30sec, Rest 4 min then, 4 min of 300m on 30 sec, Rest 2 min then, 2 min of 300m on 30 sec.
Run: 8 min of 100m on 30 sec, Rest 4 min then. 4 min of 100m sprints on 30sec, Rest 2 min then, 2 min of 100m sprints on 30 sec.
C2: 8min of 115m on 30 sec, Rest 4 min then, 4 min of 115m on 30 sec, Rest 2 min then, 2 min of 115m on 30 sec.

Notes: There are three rungs on this ladder, 8 minutes, 4 minutes, and 2 minutes. During each time period you are attempting to complete the prescribed distance for that set every :30 seconds, any time left is your rest (just like the pull-up ascension ladder). Rest 4 minutes between rounds 1 and 2, rest 2 minutes between rounds 2 and 3.
It's complicated, I know, but it's also deliciously painful.

''Team Tire Flipping Death Match''

Teams of two CrossFitters will face off for a tractor tire ''flip-off''. This contest will consist of four rounds, each representing progressively smaller increments of time. These time intervals represent how long each team will be allowed to begin their flip of the tire.
Example: Round 1 gives each team a :60 interval to flip the tire once towards their opponents. When the flip is complete the opposite team then has sixty seconds to do the same.
The rounds will continue until one team fails to execute the tractor tire flip in time (the tire must be moving towards the opposing team before the round expires, both teammates must participate in each flip).
If the two teams battle through all four rounds to a stalemate there will be a Rhabdo Round with infinite :03 second intervals. This ''bonus level'' will continue until a team declares victory.

Round 1: Each Team has 4 x :60 intervals (8 flips total)
Round 2: Each Team has 4 x :45 intervals (8 flips total)
Round 3: Each Team has 4 x :30 intervals (8 flips total)
Round 4: Each Team has 4 x 15 intervals (8 flips total)
Rhabdo Round: Each Team has :03 intervals to flip the tire, continuing until one team fails and victory is declared.

Yes, there are other prizes for the victorious besides being exhausted... wait and see.

Stable News:
There are a lot of big things happening around here as we continue through the process of scheduling dates to host two CrossFit certifications up here in our very own Stable of doom:
CrossFit Run/Endurance Certification and CrossFit Olympic Lifting Certification.
What we need right now is a general idea of how many people are interested in attending each cert so we can accurately plan for the logistics involved. Feel free to shoot me an email or post comments if you are interested...
It's about time we take things to the next level.

Any of our athletes running the Cigna 5k are more than welcome to come by prior to the start and execute a race specific warm-up... remember how max effort days require us to prime ourselves for top level performance? Running a 5k time trial is no different.

Taking burpees to maximal rep sets requires that they be strung together with constantly progressive movements by the athlete. Stopping anywhere in the range of motion, transitions included, constitutes the end of a set. Standards for the burpee include quads or chest touching the ground at the bottom of the push-up, a visible clearance off the ground during the jump, and ears visible through the arms during the clap overhead (same as any overhead movement).

CrossFit Endurance Rest Day (08.10.2009)

Stable News:
Raj has returned!! Glad to have you back from Mumbai, dude... we went out and got a Russian to fill the accent gap while you were gone, now we should be well established as a culturally diverse crowd of CrossFitters.
Oh, and the WOD for your first day back will be getting your shoes down from the ceiling.

Welcoming New CrossFitters:
The following crazies have come in recently and sipped the delicious CrossFit Kool-aid: Callie, Griggs, Butch, Erica, Nate, Jake, Paul, Jim, Kyle, Matt, Chris, and Branden.
Our crew has welcomed them all with open arms into this family of CrossFitters we have up here, lets heat up the forge and begin toiling away...

PS: There sure are a lot of Burpee Taxes coming down this week unless certain sandbaggers hurry the hell up and update their posts/scores... at least it should be an entertaining show for those that continue to offend the CrossFit Gods.
