"Hansen" (05.02.2009)

"Hansen" (05.02.2009)
Marine Staff Sgt Daniel Hansen died February 14th in Farah Providence, Afghanistan when an IED he was working on detonated. Daniel is survived by his mother Sheryll, his father Delbert, his younger sister Katie, and his twin brother Matthew (also a Marine).

Five rounds for time of:
2 pood Kettlebell swing, 30 reps
30 Burpees
30 Glute-ham sit-ups

CrossFit NH had to modify this WOD until our new gear arrives, but you can bet we won't be skipping this unique way for us to honor one of our fallen brothers.

Five Rounds for time of:
50 x Kettlebell Swings (1-pood)
30 x Burpees
50 x Abmat Sit-ups

Post time to comments.

A Quote from the CrossFit Archives in 2003 reads:
"There is greater potential for serious strength and conditioning in a two-car garage than nearly all commercial health clubs or “gyms”.
Many of our friends have long ago given up on the hope that their local gym will surrender the bodybuilding model to incorporate serious athletic training and started over at home with great success."

I am going to have to say that this is not entirely true, we now know from experience that you can create a world class facility capable of developing elite athletes in a SINGLE car garage... hell, it doesn't even need a floor. Thank you to our community for building this up with us out of the dirt, we can't stop talking about all the ideas and visions we have for the new home of CrossFit New Hampshire and it's Savage Athletes.
Please contribute your thoughts and ideas through email or in the comments at anytime, we would love to hear what everyone has to say.

P-Rex:
Welcome to the family, there's nothing like slugging through a Tabata Suck-fest during your very first trip to the Stable.
I can always tell that someone is going to fit right in if they yell, "Samy, go F--- yourself!" mid- WOD while gasping for breath.
Glad to have you with us, see you tomorrow for round two.

'''We've used regular sugar cubes (4 grams of sugar each) to show how the sugars in your favorite foods literally stack up, gram for gram.

Compare foods, find out where sugar is hiding, and see how much of the sweet stuff you're really eating.'''

Tonight was a very good workout for me, I am finally starting to be able to recognize when I'm hitting a wall, and then be able to push through it. Everyone looked great tonight, can't wait till tomorrow.
